Private Dining & Booking FAQs

  • Do you have a private dining room?

    Yes — it’s tucked just off the main restaurant. It’s warm, private and ideal for groups of 7 or more. We offer a seasonal set menu for private bookings.

  • How do I book the private room?

    Email us at enquiries@chaters.uk with your date, time and party size. We’ll walk you through the options and menu.

  • Can I just walk in?

    We always keep some seats free during the day for walk-ins. In the evening, we recommend booking — especially for groups.

  • Do you allow birthday cakes?

    Yes — but we charge a £7 per person cakeage to cover plating, candles and service.

  • Do you offer group bookings without private hire?

    Yes — groups of 7–12 can dine in the main room with a set menu, or you can request the private space (subject to availability).

  • What if I need to change or cancel?

    Just reply to your confirmation email or contact us at enquiries@chaters.uk. We appreciate as much notice as possible.

  • A note on cancellations

    As a small, family-run operation, last-minute cancellations can be really damaging. For that reason, we require card details for all bookings. A fee of £25 per person will be charged in the event of a no-show.
